This was a bit of an odd bar on our Amsterdam trip, not because it is an odd place when considered objectively, but compared to the other spots on our tour through town it was very normal. Café Zilt has a warm welcoming feel (very important at 3am) with friendly patrons and a very happy bartender.
We stumbled in after a night of drinks and Flugel shots (a neon orange liquid that tastes like cough syrup – and not the good stuff). I honestly couldn’t tell you what we had to drink but I know I chatted to a number of people there who were all happy (at least I hope they were) to talk to me. I’m also pretty sure I was being eyed up by a cougar but the boys hustled me out of there before she pounced.
The average age was quite a bit older than we were (think late 30s/early 40s) so it’s more a place for a chill drink and a chat than shots and dancing. However, for a look at the quieter side of the ‘Dam, this was perfect.
