So after a few weeks off while I hit the Big Apple for a spot of fine dining and then caught up with my extended family for a reunion which took the better part of two decades to plan, I’m back online with a wealth of new foodie experiences to share.
First post will be out tomorrow and I’ll aim to keep them coming every day or two but for now a quick look at what to expect and also a couple of things coming up.
My US trip started off in DC where I didn’t get to much new stuff, but instead took a trip down memory lane with a feast at Panera (aka St. Louis Bread Co). I did make it to Open City for brunch with an old college friend and tried out cupcakes for a recommended shop so review for those will be coming up soon.
Next I stopped off in Philly for lunch (yes, just lunch) before going onward to NYC. This is where things got interesting as I managed to hit no less than 4 tasting menus (WD-50, Bouley, Eleven Madison Park, and Le Bernardin) as well as Momofuku Noodle Bar for fried chicken and the famous Katz’s Deli.
It was one hell of a trip and I’ll be working off both the debt and the belly for a while to come. Was it worth it? Yes, it damn well was.
